What is Yang style Taichi?

Yang style Tai Chi is a traditional Chinese martial art that is often practiced for its health benefits. It was created by Yang Luchan in the mid-19th century and is characterized by slow, flowing movements that emphasize relaxation, balance, and coordination.

The practice involves a series of choreographed movements, known as forms, which are performed in a slow, deliberate manner. These movements are designed to promote the circulation of Qi (life force energy) in the body, and to develop strength, flexibility, and mindfulness.

In addition to its health benefits, Yang style Tai Chi is also considered a martial art, and some practitioners study it as a form of self-defense. However, the focus of the practice is on cultivating inner calmness and balance, rather than on combat training.
