What is Qigong?

Qigong, also known as chi kung, is a traditional Chinese practice that involves coordinated movements, meditation, and breathing techniques to promote physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.

The term “qigong” combines the Chinese words “qi,” meaning life force or vital energy, and “gong,” meaning skill or practice. Practitioners believe that by cultivating and balancing their qi, they can enhance their overall health and vitality.

There are many different styles of qigong, and some forms are more focused on physical movement, while others are more focused on meditation and visualization. Some qigong practices are also used as a complementary therapy for various health conditions, such as chronic pain, anxiety, and depression.

Qigong is often considered a part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and is practiced by millions of people around the world. It is also sometimes used in conjunction with other practices such as Tai Chi and acupuncture.
